To the Editor:
I am writing in response to the letter published from Casey Marr from the Village of Pine Ridge that appeared in the Monday edition of Villages-News.com. While I cannot comment on what he/she said (don’t know if male or female based on the name, not being woke) about the Lake Sumter Landing location, I can speak to the energy and excitement that I experienced at the Fenney location.
According to the count, there were 334 golf carts that left from the Fenney location. Everyone was so excited to be a part of a glorious event, celebrating our wonderful president and love for our country. People were lined up there long before 11:30 a.m. when I arrived. After a prayer and a pledge to our flag, we were in formation to hit the road at 1 p.m. It took us over two hours to get to Brownwood due to the number of carts in the parade. As we went along our route, there were many other Trump supporters sitting along our route to cheer us on, wave their American flags, and scream, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President!”
It was exhilarating, to say the least! It was a wonderful day to honor our country and our president, who loves our country as much as we do! (I did observe two people sitting across from the CVS by Magnolia holding a sign that said, “You should be ashamed of yourself” — they were the only ones I saw anywhere).
Guinness World Record or not, it was a fantastic turnout by patriotic Americans who love their country. The cart decorations, the clothing and hats that people wore, and the music that was being played all reflect how Americans should feel about their country.
According to the counts, Ezell had 590 golf carts in their parade and Sumter had 722 golf carts. Based on the number of people who were at Brownwood, I would say it was pretty accurate. Don’t know where Mr./Ms. Marr observed what he/she claims to have seen, but actual vision of the turnout surpasses his/her observation.
Trump flags have been replaced (because he IS our president) with American flags celebrating our 250th birthday. MAGA is alive and well and growing stronger. God bless America!
