According to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department, a store asset protection team member was monitoring surveillance cameras when he spotted Jones in the cosmetics department. She was observed placing an $8 E.L.F. eyebrow pencil into her personal bag and leaving the store without paying. The store employee, accompanied by a police officer, stopped Jones outside the store and escorted her back to the asset protection office.

While investigating the incident, the team lead reviewed archived video from two days prior and discovered Jones had also shoplifted on Saturday evening. Surveillance footage showed her selecting multiple boxes of Dulcolax—totaling $31.38—and consuming and concealing the merchandise before exiting the store without paying.

Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. During the jail intake process, staff searched her purse and discovered two orange pill bottles missing their prescription labels.

The bottles contained 18.5 white, oval-shaped pills bearing the imprint “M367,” which jail staff identified as Percocet. There was also a half of an unidentified circular green pill.

Jones was booked on two counts of second-degree petit theft and a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Her bond was set at $3,500.
