A Villager will seek another term on the Amenity Authority Committee despite pressure over his stance on Morse Boulevard.
Jim Vaccaro has filed to seek another term on the AAC, representing Community Development District 1.

The Village of De La Vista resident has become the target of harsh critics unhappy with his refusal to bend on Morse Boulevard improvements that could potentially be funded through the AAC.
Vaccaro has come under fire from the Sumter County Commission chairman and the president of The VHA. The VHA president told readers of The VHA Voice not to support Vaccaro should he run again.
Sumter County Commissioner Andrew Bilardello also offered an Opinion piece in Villages-News.com in an attempt to counter Vaccaro’s position on Morse Boulevard.
In May, Vaccaro was the lone holdout on a proposal to spend amenity money to widen the golf cart lane along Morse Boulevard, north of County Road 466. This past week, the AAC deadlocked 3-3 on the Morse Boulevard safety improvement plan, frustrating members on both sides of the issue.
Two other AAC members have also indicated they will be seeking another term — AAC Chairman Richard Benson, who represents Community Development District 2, and William Williamson, who represents the Lady Lake/Lake County section of The Villages.
The election will take place in November.
