A Summerfield woman was arrested on a battery charge following an altercation with her boyfriend, who was trying to call his mother.
Ruth Ann-Marie Fieselman, 34, was taken into custody late Monday night by deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at the RaceTrac gas station and convenience store located at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 441 and Sunset Harbor Road in Summerfield.
According to the arrest affidavit, Fieselman told deputies she and her boyfriend, had just left a bar. While she was driving him home, the boyfriend attempted to call his mother. Fieselman tried to stop him, because it was late. She got “on top of him” while she was driving to snatch the phone from his hand.

Fieselman claimed her boyfriend punched her in the face to get her off of him, leaving a small bump on her lip. She successfully grabbed the phone, pulled into the RaceTrac, and tossed the device out of the vehicle.
The boyfriend left the scene before law enforcement arrived. When contacted by phone, he was uncooperative and did not want to provide further information out of fear that he or Fieselman would be arrested. The couple has been dating for a few weeks.
Because Fieselman was determined to be the primary aggressor and the boyfriend was acting in self-defense to get her off of him, she was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.
Following her arrest, Fieselman was transported to the Marion County Jail where she was initially held without bond.
