The restrooms at Savannah Center are to be demolished and replaced.

The Amenity Authority Committee will consider the $267,775 project when members meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Savannah Center.

The Savannah Center was constructed in 2000.

“Since the facility’s construction, only minor repairs have been made to the lobby restrooms, with no major upgrades undertaken. The current restrooms are outdated and show significant signs of deterioration. Therefore, a full renovation is essential to preserve the facility and uphold The Villages’ standards,” Director of Property Management Mike Harris wrote in a recent memo.

The planned project encompasses the full demolition of existing restrooms, along with installation of new flooring, countertops, fixtures, and partitions, as well as updated paint and wallpaper finishes.

The decision to demolish and replace the restrooms at Savannah Center comes at a time when the Project Wide Advisory Committee is considering a $300,000 project to demolish and replace the restrooms at SeaBreeze Recreation Center.
