A Bushnell man with a suspended license was arrested on multiple drug charges after he was pulled over for running a stop sign.
Erik Wade Raymond, 35, was driving a silver 2009 Saturn Outlook at about 9 a.m. Friday when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of County Road 647 South and County Road 635.

Raymond, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, immediately handed the deputy a Florida ID card and spontaneously admitted that he did not have a valid license and knew he should not be driving, according to the arrest report.
A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene, and the dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of narcotics.
During a search of the SUV, deputies found an empty cigarette pack tucked underneath the driver’s seat. Inside the pack, they discovered a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, a piece of folded aluminum foil containing heroin, and a small plastic baggie of marijuana.
Raymond was arrested on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin, as well as misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was being held at the Sumter County Detention Center where Ohio authorities have put a hold on his custody.
