The hottest new nightspot in The Villages isn’t serving booze.

Twistee Treat opened at the end of June at Pinellas Plaza in The Villages and has already developed a loyal following.

However, the longest lines seem to be forming at night after the sun goes down on a long, hot day.

Plenty of cars and people were lined up Tuesday night at Twistee Treat at Pinellas Plaza.

Ice cream fans are lined up at the window ordering their favorite soft-serve swirls and sprinkle-covered sundaes. The drive-up lane has cars queued up around the uniquely designed 25-foot ice cream swirl building, with customers eager to take their cool treats out on the road or back home.

Twistee Treat is open until 10:30 p.m. each night.

A brief history of Twistee Treat

Company President Brian Silvernell announced in May 2025 that Twistee Treat would be coming to Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.

In September 2025, a special magistrate in Wildwood approved the plan for Twistee Treat at Pinellas Plaza, and less than 12 months later, Villagers were lining up for ice cream.

Twistee Treat dates back to 1983 and was founded in North Fort Myers. The original company went bankrupt, but a new version of the company was formed and is now growing fast in the Orlando and Tampa areas.
