A 24-year-old Fruitland Park woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after a deputy caught her wielding a frying pan as a weapon.
Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hang-up call at about 1 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in Bushnell.

According to the arrest report, a deputy stepped onto the front porch of the home and looked through the window of the front door to assess the situation. From that vantage point, the deputy observed Dyness Leshon Rose Foster holding a pan and pointing it directly at the victim in a threatening manner.
The two individuals briefly disappeared from the deputy’s line of sight before reappearing moments later. The deputy then witnessed Foster striking the victim in the upper chest with the palms of her hands.
Deputies separated the parties and conducted interviews. After speaking with everyone involved, Foster was determined to be the primary aggressor in the altercation.
Foster was placed under arrest on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, where she is being held without bond because she was already on felony probation at the time of the incident.
Foster is no stranger to local law enforcement. She was previously arrested for hit-and-run and filing a false police report after she fled the scene of a crash at U.S. 301 and County Road 466 and was tracked down at the Lake Miona Recreation Center, where she gave deputies a bogus story.
