
A Village of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter woman scolded a deputy who arrested her on a drunk driving charge.
Patricia Lee Johnson, 68, who lives at 1231 Russell Loop, had at been at the wheel of a red Mazda Miata at about 11 a.m. Sunday on Buena Vista Boulevard when the deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver.
During a traffic stop, the deputy noticed that Johnson had droopy eyes. It appeared she had been drinking.
“The defendant looked disorganized; she had mascara dripping from her eyes and make-up on her teeth,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.
The New Jersey native failed field sobriety exercises. She refused to provide a breath sample.
On the ride to the Sumter County Detention Center, she scolded the deputy.
“I hope you’re proud of yourself,” she said. “I hope you have a clear conscious. Look at what you did to me. Look at what you did to me. You did this to me. You did this to me.”
She was booked at the jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
