Thursday Night Football was a showdown between two old rivals – the Patriots (2-0) and the Jets (1-1). Tom Brady had a quiet night, leading his Patriots to a close win over the Geno Smith-lead Jets. The game was played in Gillette Stadium and was interspersed with heavy rain throughout.
Geno Smith committed three interceptions in route to the loss. Julian Edelman, longtime second option to former Patriot Wes Welker, cemented his status as Brady’s go-to receiver, posting a career high in receptions and targets.
The seasons for both teams continue next week as the Patriots host the Buccaneers (0-1) and the Jets host the Bills (0-1).
