Motorcyclist, passenger killed after turning into path of car driven by 72-year-old woman

A motorcyclist and his passenger were killed Tuesday after crashing into a vehicle in Citrus County.

Nina Sue Hinnant, 72, of Lecanto was driving a 2001 Chevy S10 northbound on Homosassa Trail, attempting to turn left onto West Granton Lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Kinnon Turner, 48, of Crystal River was riding a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Homosassa Trail when he turned into the path of Hinnant’s vehicle, resulting in a collision, the report stated.

Turner, and 29-year-old passenger Amber Delgadoarroyo of Crystal River, were ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene of the collision. Both had been wearing their helmets.

Charges are pending.
