A sex offender who recently returned to The Villages has landed back behind bars and it appears he won’t be getting out any time soon.
David Harrison, 45, was released this month from the Florida Department of Corrections after serving a little more than two years on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and failure to register as a sex offender.
He was arrested Thursday by Lady Lake police for violating the terms of his release. He was being held without bond at the Lake County Jail.
Harrison on Dec. 10 registered an address at 1705 Kiley Court on the Historic Side of The Villages, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Harrison had been arrested in a New Year’s Day 2015 attack on a law enforcement officer at The Villages Regional Hospital. Harrison was tasered in the incident. He was later sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
He was convicted in 1997 in Sumter County on a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a child under the age of 16.
He was also convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in 2005 in Lake County and 2007 in Marion County.
