
A woman was arrested with drugs after her debit card was declined at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.
Cillanne Carol Beauchamp, 34, of Summerfield, went to the store on Tuesday, selected several items and went to the self-checkout lane where her debit card was declined, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She left the merchandise at the self-checkout and ran out of the store.
When police arrived on the scene, Beauchamp raised her hands and said, “I didn’t take anything.”
A search of her purse turned up a plastic bag, which contained two grams of heroin and another bag which contained one gram of methamphetamine. Officers also found two straws and two pipes in her purse.
She was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substances and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $7,000 bond.
Beauchamp was arrested twice in 2018, once for driving on a suspended license and also for shoplifting at Wal-Mart in Summerfield.
