A New Jersey native who was arrested twice last year in The Villages is back in jail.
Denise Portillo, 34, of Summerfield, turned herself in Tuesday night at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was wanted on a warrant charging her with violating her probation. She was being held without bond at the jail. She is to appear before a judge on March 27.
Portillo had been arrested with marijuana after a traffic stop June 7 near the entrance to the Village of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter. She was also driving on a suspended license. In October, she was sentenced to one year of probation in Sumter County Court.
Portillo was arrested again on Christmas Day after she was caught speeding on County Road 466. Once again, she had marijuana in the car and she was driving on a suspended license.
