A Wildwood woman who was arrested for trespassing was also charged with resisting arrest after officers were forced to take her to the ground.

An officer responded to the 1400 block of Huey Street regarding a trespasser around 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. He spotted 39-year-old Heather Nicole Hersh on the property, wearing a light gray jacket and tan pants.

The maintenance employee, who was authorized to make decisions regarding the property, was present and advised that Hersh had been previously banned from the location.

The officer instructed Hersh to stand and put her hands behind her back. She refused to do so. He grabbed her right wrist while another officer grabbed her left one. She tried to walk away, and after multiple attempts at handcuffing her, the officer took her to the ground, the report said.

Hersh was told to stop resisting, yet she stiffened her arms and tried to pull them apart. The officers eventually got both hands behind her back, and she was successfully handcuffed. She refused to answer any questions about the offense, the report said.

Hersh was charged with trespassing and resisting officer. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center with bond set at $1,000.

She was also arrested in 2024 after she showered at a local RV resort, in 2023 after being found sleeping in a truck with drugs at Lakeside Landings, in 2021 for an unpaid tab at Longhorn Steakhouse, and in also is 2021 for chasing a roommate with a knife.
