A Weirsdale man was arrested after repeatedly calling 911 and falsely claiming his father needed urgent help.
Dispatchers answered a call from 32-year-old Brandon Tate Willman around 7:20 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He was hysterical on the phone as he advised that he needed help and deputies to check on his father at their residence on Smitty Road in Weirsdale. He stated it was urgent, as his father looked as if he was dying.

A deputy responded to the residence only to find Willam’s father was doing well and not in any kind of danger or distress. He called Willman to tell him that his father was OK, yet he was still hysterical about him being unwell. The deputy gave extensive consultation about the penalties of misusing 911 when no immediate emergencies were present before leaving the scene, the report said.
A short time later around 8 p.m., dispatchers got another call from Willman. He was again hysterical and claimed he saw blood where his father was laying. He stated his father was not doing well and was dying. He asked EMS and deputies to check on his father once more, the report said.
Further more, employees from RaceTrac, located at 324 U.S. Hwy. 27, Lady Lake, called about a “hysterical man.” He screamed that he needed help, claiming his father was in danger and there was blood all over the place. He then yelled at employees to dial emergency services for him, the report said.
Law enforcement learned it was Willman and linked the calls together. So, deputies responded to the gas station to speak with him. He jumped between words and acted erratic as if he could not control his actions. He proceeded to show a deputy pictures of his father and mother where he believed blood was present, but there was none, the report said.
The deputy tried to point this out to him, but he became erratic once more. He stated he did not want to speak with Lake County deputies and began yelling across the parking lot to contact the Lady Lake Police Department, the report said.
Willman then attempted to show the deputy a map on his phone of where the house was located. His phone was offline, which was to keep someone from finding him. He believed some people had been going after him for about a week and were trying to kill him. He did not know anything about what was going on, which was why they were mad at him, the report said.
The deputy tried again to tell Willman there was no danger, and it only made him erratic. With no end in sight to his claims, he was taken into custody. But he resisted and pulled away from handcuffs, yelling at the top of his lungs and causing even more of a disturbance in the parking lot, the report said.
He proceeded to kick two deputies as they tried to restrain him and continued resisting even while on the floor. He repeatedly yelled for help, stated the deputies were trying to kill him, invoked the name of Jesus multiple times, and made various statements about his father dying and his mother killing him. He continued to be combative and uncooperative throughout the restraint process to the point of needing leg restraints to prevent further assaults, the report said.
Willman was ultimately charged with resist officer with violence and unauthorized use of 911 services. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
He was also arrested in June 2022 for attacking a pregnant woman, in July 2019 for stalking an Oxford woman, and in Nov. 2015 for repeatedly beating up his girlfriend at The Quarters Apartments.
