A 20-acre parcel in Sumter County, which was formerly part of a longtime family ranch, has been sold to the owner of a Clearwater-based concrete company, just weeks after several other multi-million property sales in the area.
The parcel, which is approximately 20.18 acres in size and is situated within a mile of Interstate 75, was purchased by a company owned by D. Randall Davis, the president of Davis Concrete, Inc., for $2,255,200 on Jan. 28.
The buyer, D. Randall Davis, heads a family-owned business that has operated in Florida since 1947. With locations in Clearwater, Tampa, Bradenton, and Lakeland, Davis Concrete is a major supplier of building materials, specialized concrete services, and landscaping solutions.
The property was a portion of Beville’s Circle H Ranch, a cornerstone of the Bushnell community for over 120 years. The transaction included the southern 20 acres of the tract, while the parcel immediately north of the sold land remains under previous ownership and was not part of this sale.

The sale marks a new chapter for land that has been in the Beville family since the pioneering days of Florida. The family’s influence in the region dates back to Granville Beville Jr., who moved to the newly formed Sumter County in 1853. Granville was a prolific entrepreneur and community leader, establishing a steam-powered cotton gin, a sawmill, and a successful mercantile business. His descendants continued this legacy for decades.
At one time, the Beville family owned much of the land that comprises modern-day Bushnell, including the land donated for the county courthouse and local churches.
In 2005, the Circle H Ranch, which is managed by Granville’s great-grandsons Herman and Colan Beville, was designated a Century Pioneer Family Farm by the state.
While Davis has not publicly announced plans for the Bushnell site, the acquisition is one of several big-ticket sales that have occurred in and around The Villages in recent months.
In February, the Spruce Creek Terrace Shoppes, a multi-building retail and office center located at 17860 SE 109th Avenue in Summerfield, was sold for $13,475,000.
In the I-75 corridor near Beville’s Circle H Ranch, multiple other commercial properties have also been sold in recent months.
In January, Better Times RV Community in Lake Panasoffkee was sold to a Tampa-based management group for $3.05 million.
In December, Inter Continental Real Estate Development acquired a property along County Road 470 for $12.4 million.
