The world’s largest asset management group, which oversees over $1 trillion in real estate and other investments, has purchased a multi-acre, commercial property near The Villages for $4.5 million.

Blackstone, Inc. acquired the 10.94-acre property from Nations Best Realty Holdings for $4,518,076.92 on Feb. 13. Located at 6000 Signature Drive in Wildwood, the site houses the Sparr Building and Farm Supply.

Sparr opened its farm supply store, which is its third in North Central Florida, at the Wildwood site in 2003. The parcel has approximately 740 feet of frontage on State Road 44 and is situated across from Grand Traverse Plaza, just southwest of Brownwood.

In 2022, Heritage Capital Group announced that Nation’s Best had purchased Sparr Building & Farm Supply. Nation’s Best is an independent home improvement company.

Founded in 1985 as The Blackstone Group, the company is considered the world’s largest asset management group, maintaining a massive portfolio of real estate, private equity, infrastructure, and credit-based investments. Blackstone is based in New York City and invests on behalf of institutional and individual investors.

Several other commercial properties in and around The Villages have changed hands this year, including The Wildwood Soup Kitchen‘s new home, The Spruce Creek Terrace Shoppes, Better Times RV Community, the Days Inn by Wyndham in Wildwood, and a property that is anchored by a 7-Eleven in Sumterville.
