To the Editor:
While it is wrong to speak ill of the dead (and the near dead) I will take a moment to mark the passing of two men who overstayed their welcome in the U.S. Senate – Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell.
Every day they remained in “power” by appeasing their overlord, Donald Trump, they lost a little bit of their souls. Unfortunately, the GOP has rejected the valor of men like John McCain. Once upon a time, the strength and courage of a man like John McCain was a cornerstone of the Republican party.
We might be tempted to be hopeful as we see the cleaning out of cobwebs in the U.S. Senate, but we also fear their replacements could be far worse.
