A sex trafficker nabbed in 2025 in Lady Lake has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

Donald Eugene Fields II, 62, was on the lam for three years and was listed as one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives when a routine traffic stop in Lady Lake led to his apprehension. He allegedly had a bogus driver’s license and claimed he had been working locally in construction.

Donald Eugene Fields II was shirtless when he was taken into custody in 2025 at Villages Crossroads of Lady Lake.

An officer saw that the photo on the driver’s license wasn’t a match, leading to the discovery of Fields’ true identity in the local booking records. He was wanted in Missouri for child sex trafficking.

The sentence, handed down Thursday by U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp in St. Louis, exceeded standard federal guidelines because of the horrific nature of the crimes.
