Villager’s painting nabs first-place honors in international competition

Villages artist Nancy Dias learned in July that her painting titled “Short Circuit” was awarded first place in the Abstract/Experimental category of the Artists Magazine Annual Art Competition.

In addition to a monetary prize, as a first-place winner Dias, of the Village of Piedmont, and her winning painting will be featured in the January/February 2020 issue of Artists Magazine.

This isn’t the first time Dias has been recognized for her “Short Circuit” painting. In May, she scored an Award of Excellence from the Tallahassee Watercolor Society. In March, she took home the Merit Award from the Central Florida Watercolor Society. And she was juried into the Florida Watercolor Society’s 2018 Annual Exhibition.
