A Villager who serves as chairman of the Lady Lake Planning & Zoning Board was snubbed in his bid for re-appointment to the board by a town commissioner with whom there has been some friction.

Chairman John Gauder was up for reappointment Wednesday evening to his seat on the Planning & Zoning Board. He received the support of Commissioners Ruth Kussard, Dan Vincent and Tony Holden.

However, Gauder did not receive the backing of Commissioner Paul Hannan.

Mayor Jim Richards was out of town and did not attend Wednesday’s meeting.

Hannan walked out of a Planning & Zoning Board meeting last year and later lashed out its members, calling the board “dysfunctional.”  You can read more about that HERE

Villager Pete Chiasson was so angered by Hannan’s public criticism, that he resigned from both the Planning & Zoning Board and the Police Pension Board. You can read more about that HERE

Two Planning & Zoning Board members also seeking reappointment, William Sigurdson and Robert Conlin, received unanimous support Wednesday in their reappointment bids.
