Marie Cormier

Marie Elizabeth Cormier, 73, of Lady Lake, was peacefully called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 11, 2020, surrounded by those most dear to her.

She was born to the late Albert and Rose Harrison on December 25, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from William Floyd High School in 1965.

On June 20, 1970, Marie married Jean Paul Cormier (Master Chief Petty Officer, US Navy, retired). The couple lived in Fitchburg, MA, Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA, Virginia Beach, VA and Remington, VA before retiring in Lady Lake, Florida. Marie is survived by four children: Rosemarie Cormier, Jeanette Lomberk, and Lisa Fessenden, all of Lake County, Florida, and Kevin Cormier of Waldorf, MD. She is also survived by her brother John Harrison, and seven grandchildren: Justin, Nathaniel, and Juliet Cormier, Eric and Ciara Lomberk, Zachary and Zoey Fessenden. Marie was predeceased by her brother Al Harrison and sister Rose Boudreau.

Marie was quite simply the grace and glue of her family, and a devout member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, FL. For years she worked in the food service industry before working at the Melon Patch Theater in Leesburg, FL, where she retired after 19 years as Office Manager. She was very competitive in Scrabble and enjoyed word puzzles of all types. She loved spending time with family and friends and making everyone around her happy.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 22. 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, FL. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
