Quarters Apartment man admits to texting after pulled over by sheriff’s deputy

Justin William Hudson

A resident of The Quarters Apartments admitted he had been texting when he was pulled over by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy.

Justin William Hudson, 39, had been driving shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Griffin Road when his vehicle was spotted swerving on the roadway, according to an arrest report. He said he had been texting. He also admitted his license was suspended.

Hudson “did not think that he should be getting arrested for driving on a suspended driver license,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.

While Hudson’s vehicle was being inventoried prior to being removed from the scene by Kling Towing, a beer can was found along with a bag containing a small liquor bottle.

He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.

Hudson had been arrested April 30 on a charge of driving while license suspended in Sumter County, while he still listed an address in The Villages.
