A Villager’s live-in lady friend is pleading with a judge to release her 81-year-old man friend based on his “distinguished record.”
Morris Hirsch Wolff has been held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center following his arrest Nov. 19. It was his fourth arrest this year.
Among the charges Wolff is facing is a charge of practicing law without a license. He is accused of misrepresenting himself during a meeting in July at the Millhorn Law Firm in The Villages. He was later arrested on a charge of trespassing after showing up at the law firm, from which he had been banned.
Wolff resides in a home on Mullins Path in the Village of Mallory Square. The home is owned by Patricia Pawlowski. She recently wrote to the judge in Wolff’s case.
“My partner, Morris Wolff is being held at the Sumter County Jail without solid reasons,” she wrote.
In her letter, she provided correspondence from Wolff to attorney Eric Millhorn, which reportedly shows the communication between the two. She claims Wolff had a legitimate appointment with Millhorn and his subsequent arrest was a misunderstanding. She also included a copy of Wolff’s biography. Wolff’s law license was suspended in 1994 in Pennsylvania, a fact not mentioned in the frothy biography.
Pawlowski indicated in her letter that Bob’s 24-Hour Bail Bond would be willing to re-instate Wolff’s bond, “if you are kind enough to give him back his presently revoked bond.”
Wolff is due back in court on Feb. 13 for a pre-trial hearing.
He was arrested twice in 2017 after altercations at the tennis courts at Tierra Del Sol Recreation Center. He has also been convicted of family abuse in 1999 in Hawaii and disorderly conduct in 1991 in Georgia.
