60-year-old motorcyclist dies after crash in Lake County during Bikefest

A 60-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash Saturday afternoon in Lake County during Leesburg Bikefest.

Donald Troxel of Mulberry was riding a 2014 Harley-Davidson at 2:05 p.m. westbound on County Road 48 when his motorcycle collided with a 2012 Hyundai four-door driven by 58-year-old Torri Saldivar of Coleman, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Saldivar had been southbound on State Road 33.

It remains under investigation as to who had the green light, the FHP said in its report.

Troxel was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. His wife, Judith, was transported to LRMC with minor injuries. Neither had been wearing a helmet.

Saldivar suffered serious injuries and was also transported to LRMC.
