Billed for 10,000 gallons of water I didn’t use

To the Editor:

On advice from others, I also checked my water bill from last month, and as others have found, I was billed for 10,000 gallons of irrigation water, from my irrigation meter that has been turned off at the meter for the last two months. When I called The Villages community development district Tuesday afternoon, I was told the same thing I was told when I showed them my very dark brown water filter that I was told about being charged for water I was not using, “So, what do you want me to do?” I get it they do not need to be responsive to us as individuals, but maybe as a class action.
To some I see money is more important than reputation. My guess is they need the $23 more than I/we do. Keep an eye on your water usage.
