Joan Alice Borghoff

Joan Alice Borghoff, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on the morning of December 1, 2018 at the age of 80 at Cornerstone Hospice. Joan was born on October 16, 1938 in Suffern, NY. She was one of six children graduating from Suffern High School in 1956.

Joan met the love of her life Eugene at The Naples Restaurant in River Vale, NJ in 1958 where she was a waitress. It was a restaurant where Geno and his brothers would frequent. They were then married January 13, 1962.

Joan and Eugene settled down in Suffern, NY where they raised two boys, Christopher and Eric. While her husband was building a business with his brothers in Calrstadt, NJ Joan was raising her two boys working as the attendance secretary at Suffern HS where she could keep a eye on her boys. Joan and Eugene eventually moved to the Jersey Shore then retired to The Villages, FL.

Joan was well known for her contagious laugh and the love for her family and close friends. She is survived by her boys Christopher and Eric, randchildren Ryley and Josie and her daughter in law Christine.

A service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on December 15, 2018 at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, FL 32159.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations can be made in Joan’s name by going to http://bit.ly/Joan_Borghoff.
