Car, golf cart collide near FishHawk Recreation Center

Two people were transported from the scene of a collision Saturday morning between a car and a golf cart at Tarpon Boil golf course.

The collision occurred at about 10 a.m. near FishHawk Recreation Center.

The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate the collision.

The drivers of each of the vehicles were transported to local hospitals. There were no passengers in either of the vehicles.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene first, but confirmed it would be handing the investigation over to FHP.

The Villages Public Safety Department, Rural/Metro Ambulance and Community Watch all responded to the scene. Nobleton Lane off Buttonwood Run was temporarily closed off due to the investigation.
