Colony Boulevard light set to go into ‘flashing mode’ beginning Friday

The light on Colony Boulevard is scheduled to be activated Friday, July 25.

Paver bricks were installed this week at the point where vehicular traffic intersects with golf cart traffic on Colony Boulevard near the Colony Cottage Recreation Center.

For the first week, the traffic light will be in flashing mode, District Property Manager Sam Wartinbee said in a report Friday morning to Community Development District 7 supervisors.

The light will flash “Caution” for drivers on Colony Boulevard and “stop” golf cart drivers.

This will give drivers time to begin to acclimate to the light, Wartinbee said.

After one week of flashing mode, the light will be switched to regular mode.

After the light has been in operation for a while, district officials will revisit the data and determine if any adjustments are necessary, Wartinbee added.

Bricks have been installed on Colony Boulevard where a traffic light will be soon be activiated.
