Deputies called to couple’s quarrel in which man tried to damage his own car with golf club

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a quarrel Sunday morning in Summerfield where a man used a golf club to try to break out the windows of his car.

Deputies responded at 8:57 a.m. to a home on SE 144th Place near Little Lake Weir where a man and a woman, both senior citizens, had gotten into an altercation. The woman hit the man in the face with a phone, and she fell to the ground during the altercation, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

There were no arrests due to conflicting statements from the couple.
