Driver taken by ambulance to TVRH after accident on Rolling Acres Road and CR466

A 55-year-old Oak Meadows man was ticketed after an accident that sent another driver to the hospital Thursday night at the intersection of Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466.

George Joseph Laufersky had been in the turning lane on CR466 at 6:53 p.m. making a left hand turn onto Rolling Acres Road when he failed to yield to a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Marquez Rashad Porter of Leesburg, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The vehicles collided head-on, causing both of their airbags to deploy.

Porter was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital for examination of injuries to his right hand and right leg. Laufersky refused to be transported, but he did complain his left wrist was sore, the report indicated. Laufersky was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
