Driver who crashed into tree airlifted from scene of accident

A driver who crashed into a tree Friday afternoon on Griffin View Drive had to be extricated from the damaged vehicle.

“The driver was trapped in the vehicle due to the impact of the tree directly on the driver’s door,” said Lt. Brian Gamble of the Professional Firefighters of Lake County.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle accident in Lady Lake.

The driver was airlifted from the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Gamble said.
