Hiao Shu Yu, 91, of The Villages, FL, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. She had lived in The Villages for a short time, moving here from Marlboro, New Jersey. She had been a practicing physician for over 45 years. She earned her medical degree in China. She then practiced in Taiwan, Libya, Mount Kisco, New York and then practiced throughout New York before retiring in 1995. She was a high achiever, very kind and generous and helped mentored many other physicians throughout her career. She enjoyed singing, dancing, traveling and Mah Jong. She was preceded in death by her husband, Li Yen Ting and her daughter, Helen Lau.

She is survived by three children, Andrew Ting, Annie Ting (Roger Martin), Peter Ting (Angela Lee); grandchildren, Lisa Lau, Robert Wu; one great grandchild, Max Collins; three sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 11, 2016 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
