Kenneth E. ‘Casey’ Casey

Kenneth E. “Casey” Casey, 74, of The Villages, FL, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Born in Cairo, IL, Casey served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and he retired as a Command Sergeant Major. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat on the first day of the 1968 Tet Offensive. He earned his Bachelor Of Science Degree from the University of Maryland while serving in the Army. After retiring, Casey then served as the National Director of Military Affairs for the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Association (NCOA) in Alexandria, VA for 3 years before moving to The Villages in 1989. He began his very successful real estate career in 1991 and eventually opened Ken Casey Realty before retiring in 2013. Survivors include his loving wife Muriel; daughter Cathy Scheiman (Michael) of Chantilly, VA; granddaughters Christina (Jason), Grace and Maggie; great grandsons Miles and Silas; nephews Mike Casey of La Habra CA; Mitch Casey (Donna) of Fairfield, OH; Mark Casey (Deena) of Glen Allen, VA; niece Debbie Casey of Brea, CA; and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 9 – 11 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. and burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery at 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513. In lieu of flowers or memorials, please donate to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
