Spare us the Recreation News and save a tree

To the Editor:

Do I want to contribute to the $153,000.00 increase for the printing of the Recreation News guide? NO!  NO!  NO!  What a waste of paper.  I wish the survey asked how many people read the guide when it comes with the paper on Thursday.  I bet there would be less than 1 percent.  Everything you want to know in The Villages should be available online.  If you aren’t computer savvy, then there should be 25 copies of the rec guide available at every rec center.  Everyone is close to a rec center.  Right now, I see the stacks of rec guides sitting on tables at the rec centers and those stacks are still there on Wednesday nights when I leave, to be tossed out when the new ones arrive on Thursday morning.  Not only would we not have to pay an additional $153,000.00, but we would save thousands by not putting them in the Thursday paper.  Where is common sense? Save a tree or two!
