Villager Don Burgess to seek re-election to Sumter Commission in 2016

Villager Don Burgess has announced that he will seek re-election to the Sumter County Board of Commissioners in 2016.

The Village of Bonnybrook resident picked up an election packet Thursday at the Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Office.

Burgess is one of three Villagers currently serving on the county commission. However, fellow Villager Don Hahnfeldt will be running for the Florida House in 2016. Villager Steve Printz has already filed to run for Hahnfeldt’s commission seat. An individual named Don Levens has picked up an election packet for Hahnfeldt’s Commission District 5 seat, but has not filed.

Sumter Commissioner Al Butler, also a Villager, has indicated that he intends to run again in 2016. He has not yet picked up an election packet.
