A 30-year-old Wildwood man was arrested after a family dispute in the parking lot of the Oxford Assembly of God on U.S. 301.

Wildwood police were called at about 7 p.m. Sunday after Zachary William Arnold got into an altercation with his girlfriend’s son. Arnold allegedly grabbed the son’s wrist during the argument and the mother in turn grabbed Arnold by the hair in an attempt to break things up, the arrest report indicated.

The three have been living together for three years, and Arnold told police he would like to be seen as a father figure.

Arnold was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
