FIVE TEAMS REMAIN UNDEFEATED AND FOUR STILL WINLESS AFTER SECOND WEEK OF PLAY

 

METLIFE 19  SRG 9

Metlife opened the Winter season with a solid win over SRG.  The winners were led by 4 hits each from Al DuBuc, Rick Fredieu, Jim Stancil and Ed Walker plus 5 RBI’s from Paul Noyes. Scott Marshall had 3 hits and Duane Broschat had 3 RBI’s for SRG while 5 others had 2 hits each.

CEBERT 12  BABIARZ 11

Babiarz scored 6 runs in the 7th inning but fell short in their comeback and remains winless. Manager Bob Winder had 3 RBI’s and 6 others had 2 hits for Babiarz. Cebert remained undefeated behind Bob Buchanan’s 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Bill Dunkley and Barry Stewart also had 3 hits apiece.

 

3AMIGOS 14  ARDEN 6

3Amigos got 4 runs in the 1st and 5 more in the 3rd to run away from Adren’s and remain undefeated. Their potent offense was led by Dave Hinkley’s HR + 3RBI’s and Jim Wheeler’s 3 RBI’s. Seven other players had 2 hits each. Dick Smith led Arden with 3 hits while Bob Strolin, Ed Kordus, Don Mulneix and John Plunkard each contributed 2 hits.

 

FROSS&FROSS 28 MULBERRY 16

Fross&Fross broke open a very close game with a 10 run 7th inning to remain undefeated. They were led by Joe DeGeorge’s 5 hit + 3 RBI day. In addition, Ed DeMaio had 4 hits + 4RBI’s while Tom Ramberg, Jim Rogers and Dick Moffit had 4 hits each. Pat Rice led Mulberry with 4 hits and 5 RBI’s while Jim Allison and George Loew chipped in with 3 hits each.

After the game, CFLers Gordie Lewis, Pat Rice, Ken Scanlon, and Jim Walter relax and enjoy another “Beautiful Day in The Villages”.

IHOP 13  HARLAN 11

IHOP got 5 runs in the 6th inning to complete a comeback to remain undefeated and tied for first place. Jack Meagher led IHOP with 4 hits + 3 RBI’s and got 3 hits each from Walt Banko, Denis Hodge and Jerry Jensen(4 RBI’s). The tough loss Harlan team was led by Craig Dahlquist and Fred Hughes who each had 3 hits. They also had 5 players with 2 hits apiece.

HUMANNA 15  PERKINS 12

Humanna broke into the win column with a close victory over Perkins who are searching for their first this season. Humanna got 3 hits from Tom McGann, Dave Oatley and Ron Hellier(4 RBI’s). Four other players helped with 2 hits each. Perkins got 3 hits from Tim Carroll, Jim Morton and Earl Bellisario while manager Lew Burhans drove in 3 runs. Five other players had 2 hits each.
