A Villager who lost his driver’s license after a driving under the influence conviction in Texas, was arrested when he was caught behind the wheel Wednesday morning on County Road 466.
A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed an expired tag on a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Ted Reese Stevenson of SE 84th Peyton Court in the Village of Piedmont. The vehicle was a 2002 Dodge pickup with Texas license plates. A check revealed Stevenson did not have a driver’s license. Stevenson told the deputy his license had been suspended due to the 2009 DUI conviction in Texas.
Stevenson was charged with driving without a license and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $500. He was also issued a written warning for having an expired registration.
