Wildwood woman arrested after battle involving riding lawn mower

Deborah Dodson

A Wildwood woman was arrested after a battle involving a riding lawn mower.

Deborah Lynn Dodson, 59, had been riding on the lawn mower Saturday afternoon when another woman snatched the keys from the mower, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Dodson responded by grabbing the woman, striking her in the face and shoving her backward. The woman showed deputies a small circular bruise mark on her cheek that was the result of Dodson’s alleged attack. She said she wanted to press charges.

Dodson said the other woman “got in her face” and Dodson admitted she struck her with her fist.

She was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $100 bond.
