Summerfield man once accused of passing bogus $100 bill nailed on drug charges

Glenn Timothy Vincent

A Summerfield man found himself behind bars early Sunday morning on multiple drug charges after the vehicle he was riding in was stopped for inoperable taillights and no license tag light.

Glenn Timothy Vincent, 26, originally gave a Marion County sheriff’s deputy a false name but he was familiar with him and believed he was wanted on a warrant from another law enforcement agency.

The deputy detained Vincent to check on the outstanding warrant and emptied his pockets before placing him in his patrol vehicle. He found a key chain with a pouch that contained a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, a sheriff’s office report states.

Vincent also claimed ownership of a gray backpack that that contained a black case holding two small scales. The deputy then located a brown fanny pack with a sock inside it that contained two small glass pipes that tested positive for methamphetamine, the report says.

After being read his rights, Vincent told the deputy that everything in the backpack belonged to him. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug equipment and a previous charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Vincent, who lives at 6445 SE 173rd Lane in Summerfield, was being held on $8,000 bond. He’s due in court May 26 and June 18 to answer to the charges.
Vincent also was arrested in June 2019 after allegedly presenting a clerk at a Leesburg gas station with a bogus $100 bill. Leesburg police quickly located Vincent, who also was wanted on a felony warrant out of Marion County charging him with battery on a person over the age of 65. He was also found to be in possession of Oxycodone, Xanax and drug paraphernalia, a police report states.
