A man with a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license was arrested after nearly hitting a Lady Lake Police Department squad car.

James Lozenski, 34, was driving a truck “recklessly” and at a high rate of speed Friday morning and almost hit a patrol car that had its lights and siren activated as the officer was responding to another call, according to an arrest report.

Another officer followed Lozenski to his home at 107 Third St. in Lady Lake. A check revealed his driver’s license was suspended, but he claimed he had received a “notice form Pennsylvania yesterday that his license was reinstated.” He also claimed he had not seen the squad car that had its lights and siren activated.

He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,500 bond.
