President Biden a modern-day Neville Chamberlain

To the Editor:

British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain has a lot in common with President Biden. History buffs Remember Prime Minister Chamberlain declaring he had arranged to have peace in his time after holding high level talks with Adolf Hitler. He thought he brought this off through diplomacy. He was dead wrong and his “diplomacy” cost millions of lives as Hitler recognized and took advantage of this weak and feckless leader as he continued his military rampage through Europe.
President Biden shares the same ideology and weak leadership qualities of Prime Minister Chamberlain and Russia, China, and other totalitarian regimes are taking advantage of his weakness. China is threatening Taiwan and Russia is massing troops on the Ukrainian border.
President Biden just had a conversation with Russian “president” Putin on the Ukrainian issue. President Biden didn’t call this meeting, President Putin did. Imagine how weak a president can be that he would accommodate a Russian dictator’s demand to talk “NOW”!
He let a dictator create an agenda item.
He told dictator Putin that (I paraphrase) there would be dire consequences if Russia invades the Ukraine. However, these are only words and it’s obvious that he will not back them up with a meaningful response just like President Obama didn’t provide a meaningful response but sent the devastated Ukrainians BLANKETS!
This kind of appeasement is dangerous to the survival of our nation and our leadership of the free world.
