Crispers will officially close its location in The Villages on May 25

Although no reason was given for closing The Villages location, it is another in a long list of recent closures for the embattled company. In the last two years alone, the once trendy eatery has closed doors at multiple locations across the state, including restaurants in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Safety Harbor.

Popular for its fresh foods and fast-casual setting, Publix took an interest in the company, eventually acquiring the chain and attaching over two dozen restaurants to their supermarkets. Only a few years after acquiring the restaurants, and after stores closings throughout Florida, Publix sold the company to Healthy Food Concepts, LLC.

After The Villages location closes its doors, only 19 locations will remain according to the company’s website.
