Ocala man driving semi collides with school bus carrying 18 students

An Ocala man driving a semi collided Wednesday morning with a school bus carrying 18 students in Hernando County.

Alexander J. Segovia, 33, had been driving the semi shortly after 6 a.m. southbound on Interstate 75 when he exited onto State Road 50, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He failed to fully stop at a red light and struck the school bus carrying 18 Hernando High School students. Six students suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by EMS.

An Ocala trucker collided with a school bus, knocking it to its side in Hernando County.

The school bus was driven by 62-year-old Carmen Frongillo of Brooksville.

Segovia was cited for violation of a traffic signal.
