Goodwill Industries and the Red Cross are joining together in an effort to help those affected by Hurricane Michael in the Florida Panhandle.
People who would like to donate clothing, shoes and household goods can visit any Goodwill store or donation center throughout Florida and designate their donation to Hurricane Michael relief efforts.
The Goodwills will process the donations earmarked for Hurricane Michael and provide material goods and/or funding to those affected by the category 4 storm in the affected areas. In some cases, storm victims will receive vouchers they can redeem for selected items in Goodwill locations throughout Florida.
While Goodwill can accept almost anything, the emphasis during this effort is on clothing, shoes, towels, linens and other household goods. The Florida Goodwill Association is comprised of nine autonomous Goodwill organizations, each serving the people of a multi-county region. There are 225 Goodwill retail stores across the Sunshine State with more than 10,000 employees.
