Merlen Biebesheimer

Merlen Biebesheimer, 100 years young, of the Village of Palo Alto, passed away on July 29, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages, Florida.

Merlen was born on October 1, 1919 in Waterloo, Indiana to Wilbur Newcomer and Pearl (Brandeberry) Newcomer. She was a watercolor artist and loved creating floral paintings, which were her specialty. Merlen moved to the The Villages, Florida 20 years ago from Bellevue, Washington. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. Merlen will be forever remembered as the “Easter Egg Grandma” by her loving grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Bill Biebesheimer and his wife Judy of The Villages, FL, Susan Cook of Asheville, NC and Robert Biebesheimer and his wife Lilly of Huntington Beach, CA; seven grandchildren: Mike, Alan, Jesse, Kyle, Kevin, Kimberly and Carrie; eight great-grandchildren and a niece, Sarah and nephew, Alan. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood, 203 Barwick St, 34785.
