Delores Hunter

Delores Marie Hunter, 83, of Oxford entered into Heaven’s Gate on Easter Sunday morning, April 4, 2021. She was born October 6, 1937 in Waycross, GA. She was the daughter of Bessie Phillips Pittman Hood and Walter Ben Pittman.

Delores moved to Oxford, FL at a very young age and attended Wildwood High School. She was employed at Florida Telephone Corporation which later became Sprint retiring after 42 years of service. After her retirement from work, Delores and her husband traveled extensively, enjoying many wonderful trips together.

Delores was a Christian by faith and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence “Chuck” Hunter and her brother, Bennie Pittman. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (Wayne) McLucas; son, Stanley (Dawn) Teagle; granddaughter, Haileigh Teagle; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Pittman Terry and Joan Pittman Kilgoar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held in the near future in Pine Level Cemetery.
