Kenneth James Thompson, age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in The Villages, Florida. Kenneth was born in Cleveland, Ohio and retired to The Villages over 12 years ago. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and attended the Immanuel Baptist Church of Oxford, Florida and the Garden Worship Center in Belleview, Florida. He is remembered by those closest to him for his good sense of humor, and his vibrant and outgoing personality. He loved to dance and lived to travel but the very most important thing in his life was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years – Eleanor; Children – Dana Clark of Charleston, SC; Carol Grier of Cleveland, OH; Cassie Aragon of Atlanta, Kristi Gilmore of Charlotte, NC; and Scott Treadway of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 2016 at the Immanuel Baptist Church 8015 S. E. 180th C. R. 102, Oxford, FL 34484.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to: Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary, 5604 New Road, Hollywood, SC 29449.
